MALC Syllabus Review Project

As part of APM Group's continual service improvement process, the review process for the ITIL Managing across the Lifecycle (MALC) qualification began in January 2011.

The review coincides with the update of ITIL core publications and presents an opportunity to reconsider the syllabus, examination and course assessment criteria, and to ensure the qualification meets the needs of candidates.

We are consulting extensively with a wide range of stakeholders, including Accredited Training Organisations (ATOs), trainers, Examination Institutes (EIs), students and their sponsors, users, the ITIL examination panel and itSMF International. As part of our stakeholder consultation, we published a number of online surveys for MALC students, their sponsors, ATOs and trainers which were available for completion in April 2011.

The feedback gathered has been reviewed and analysed by the Syllabus Advisory Board made up of representatives from the itSMF International, the Licensed EIs, the Examination Panel and a selection of ATOs, all of whom have been nominated to the Board by their constituencies. This Board have considered all feedback and made recommendations for improvements and changes to the syllabus and other elements of the qualification.
