23rd October 2008, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, UK….The APM Group has asked all the Examination Institutes it works with to administer ITIL V3 exams – BCS-ISEB, EXIN, Dansk IT, LCS and DFC, to comment on their experience of the new qualification scheme. These statements will be released over the next few weeks.
Carol Hulm, BCS Programme Manager, has been closely involved in the process as a representative of ISEB on the main Qualifications Board. She says: "It's been over a year since ITIL V3 was launched however with the Intermediate Level Qualifications implementation and launch plans being announced recently the full scheme will be available from 1st January, except the Masters Level. Hopefully more information about the Masters Level will be made available after the next Qualification Board Meeting in November.
The Foundation and Foundation Bridge qualification are currently undergoing a review through consultation with a wide range of stakeholders including ATOs from all regions worldwide with a physical meeting being held in London (Heathrow) on 22nd and 23rd October. The outcome of this review will be announced once the Advisory group have analyzed the results and provided recommendations to the Qualification Board in November. More information about the Review is available on the ITIL Official Website.
"One of the most common questions we are asked is whether people's V2 qualifications will still be valid. The easy answer is yes and there are now a number of ways that people can see how V2 qualifications are included in the new scheme".
October 1st saw the launch of the ITIL Credit Profiler, an on-line system that allows the candidate to calculate credits already achieved and those achieved within the V3 scheme and provides assistance with balanced modular selection.
